About this course
AI for Data and Documents is a hands-on short course on using AI prompts to do real analysis — on structured datasets and on policy documents — with no coding required. The workflow throughout is simple and rigorous: upload the file, ask in plain English, interpret the output, and verify every claim.
It is a basic-skills course. It introduces practical AI skills that employers increasingly expect, and it does not overlap with the Big Data Analytics course.
What you will be able to do
- Have AI explore a dataset — describe, clean, summarize, and visualize — in plain English.
- Prompt for reproducible, verifiable modeling code: a regression and a CART tree, judged honestly by RMSE.
- Turn policy documents into usable information: faithful summaries, structured extraction, comparison, and classification.
- Measure tone and stance, track how language changes, and build an evidence-based synthesis with citations.
- Use zero-shot, one-shot, and few-shot prompting — and verify predictions against real outcomes.
